  Ethereal downtempo / dream pop. Very well done. I think the Duvet cover ditracts from the record, and for this I blame TikTok.

  This album isn't perfect, but the highs are very high. 90s alt-rock album with a hint of dreaminess.

  Good, unique, noisy. I put off checking this out for a while and I'm not sure why.

  So fucking cool. Breakbeats, pedal distortion, feedback. Racing games. I miss playing Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition with my buddies off the PSP.
• xaviersobased - once more

  I've always loved xav's production but have found his solo work to feel a little grating & unpolished. I think this is a step in the right direction and features some earworks. Keep it goin.
• Ssaliva - I'm the One with No Soul

  Dream pop, glitches, good, etc.
• DJ Sprinkles - RA.1000 (Mix)

  Till it's backwards.
• Bauhaus - anything by this band

  I shouldn't need to add context here but Bauhaus was really good. They're not even underrated or anything. #RealGothShit

• Water From Your Eyes - It's a Beautiful Place

  Great album that builds on their past work in an elegant way. This isn't any fault of the band's (I believe), but I'm going to use this as a chance to criticize how some labels are currently choosing to roll their artists' albums out - this album is under 30 minutes long, but had 3 singles composing ~50% of the runtime that started releasing at the end of May. This is something that I've anecdotally noticed across-the-board; long release timeframes that end with an album I feel like I've already heard. I'm sure it works at generating buzz, profit, whatever the industries after, but I think it ends up ditracting from the cohesiveness of the album. An obvious solution here is to not listen to singles, but I certainly don't have the willpower to do that.

  Lush, dreamy, eclectic shoegaze. AoTY contender. Unique.
• 100%WET - 100%WET

  Thrashy guitar music with a drum machine.
• Oli XL - Lick The Lens — Pt. 1

  Warp records release. Minimal, cuts & glitches with major features. Hopefully gets a CD release.

  Props to Burial for refining his sound so well that you can tell it's a Burial song ~5 seconds in.
• Wisp - Mesmerized

  Pretty derivative and emblamatic of what I don't like about modern shoegaze, but this song does rip.
• After - Deep Diving

  Also pretty derivative, but this time of a 2000s bubbly-pop-downtempo sound. It's hard to hate though! Game recognize game, etc.

  I really like fakemink. I've begun to prepare myself for the possiblity of a fakemink #1 Spotify wrapped result.

  This is a bit more of a rythmic approach than what I'm used to this group putting out and I really like it. I hope they explore making music like this more.

• Various Artists - The Fire This Time

  This is an IDM compilation tape that details the history of the Gulf War and the atrocities commited within. It's a bummer, but a unique listen.
• Draag - Actually, the quiet is nice

  Nice, noise.
• Guitar Michael Lueckner - Sunkissed

  This album's fire; it's a twice-a-year obsession.
• Alex G - Headlights

  I saw some middling opinions on this one, but me + all my IRL Alex G heads thought it was good, so I think They are wrong. The man is a national treasure.
• Dream Dolphin - Gaia: Selected Ambient & Downtempo Works (1996-2003)

  This is a cool group that made some seminal acid tracks in the 90s, but hasn't seen much traction in the modern day. This is a career-long compilation tape and is very long. Worth a listen.
• Purelink - Faith

  New-ish release that's just like the minimal techno everyone was making 15 years ago, but with even less going on. Clicks and glitches are nice.
• Gucci Mane - Chicken Talk

  Yeah man I love this stuff. Atlanta. Mixtape rap. The cover could be more insane.

  I listened to this song too much and think it's cringe now, if that's a stamp of approval as any.

  I didn't like This Is Lorelei for a but I think I've come around on it.

  A single plus a SoundCloud loosie. They both rock. #1 band.

  Pretty quintessential Joanne, but that's not a bad thing. A bit of a throwback, really.
